Jacobs Agency Helps Nathan’s Famous Break Guinness World Record

 

CHICAGO, September 6, 2016 — This past Friday, Nathan’s Famous and Jacobs Agency took to Grand Central Terminal in New York City to break the Guinness World Record title for Longest Line of Hot Dogs.

 

Before the record breaking event, fans were able to take part in a Coney Island experience for the whole family right in Grand Central Terminal. There were games, a photo area, and even a chance to meet competitive eater Joey Chestnut. Once the event began, the energy couldn’t be beat. Commentator, George Shea, was in attendance, ready to keep the fans excited through the rest of the day.

 

Using 1,916 hot dogs to honor the founding year of Nathan’s Famous, the total line of hot dogs measured 958 feet, surpassing the previous world record by over 100 feet. In addition to celebrating the founding year of Nathan’s, the hot dogs were lined up on several tables to spell out “100”, to commemorate the one hundredth anniversary of the brand.

 

Once the world record title was broken and the certificate awarded, Nathan’s gave away the 1,916 hot dogs to the hungry fans that had been watching. “This was such a fantastic way to help kick off Labor Day for Nathan’s fans,” said, Flora Caputo, Vice President and Executive Creative Director of Jacobs Agency. “Families heading home on the trains were able to catch the action and grab a hot dog for their commute. We had everything from a Snapchat filter to posters, to a nostalgic take-away newspaper with coupons for the fans to really show their love for Nathan’s. The whole day was a great success.”
